The Largest Infrastructure Project in Aust. History starts with OMTrak

Thiess John Holland Joint Venture have just began to use the OMTrak system to deliver their Operations and Maintenance Manuals for the Airport Link, Northern Busway Project in SE QLD.

The Airport Link project is a mainly underground toll road connecting the Inner City Bypass, the North-South Bypass Tunnel and the local road network at Bowen Hills in the south, to the northern arterials of Gympie Road and Stafford Road at Lutwyche and Kedron in the north-west, and to Sandgate Road and the East-West Arterial at Clayfield in the north-east.

Following a competitive tendering process spanning most of 2007 and 2008, BrisConnections was selected to deliver Airport Link, as well as the next section of the Northern Busway from Windsor to Kedron and the Airport Roundabout Upgrade project. These projects are being managed by City North Infrastructure Pty Ltd on behalf of the Queensland Government.

This major road project is Australia’s largest public private partnership. These three projects are being constructed in parallel. BrisConnections will: build, own, operate, finance and maintain the Airport Link project construct the Windsor to Kedron section of the Northern Busway construct the upgrade to the Airport Roundabout. The Queensland Government is funding and will operate and maintain the Northern Busway (Windsor to Kedron) and the Airport Roundabout upgrade. The Airport Link project is part of the Queensland Government’s overall strategy to improve the efficiency of Brisbane’s road network, and is consistent with the state’s transport planning objectives.
