OMTrak in full swing with Gold Coast University Hospital

In November 2008, Lend Lease was engaged to manage the design and construction of the new Gold Coast University Hospital.

Three years and almost five million construction hours later, Gold Coast University Hospital is taking shape and the project is on time and on budget for completion in December 2012.

WebFM’s OMTrak operation and maintenance manual online system is now in full swing for this project with many of the sub-contractors well underway with the collation of their manuals.

Former Deputy Premier and Minister for Health, Paul Lucas, said the Gold Coast University Hospital was an important step toward meeting and planning for the future health needs of needs of the Gold Coast.

Mr Lucas said it also provided a considerable boost to the local construction industry.

“The Gold Coast is now the sixth largest city in Australia, and continues to experience incredible population growth,” he said.

“The Gold Coast University Hospital project is locking in nearly 9,800 local construction jobs over the life of the project and jobs in the health sector in the future,” he said.

“It is clearly a positive development for all people on the Gold Coast.”

Gold Coast University Hospital constitutes a major component of more than $2 billion currently being invested in health infrastructure on the Gold Coast.

WebFM’s OMTrak system is been rolled out across all Queensland Health projects including the following:
– Cairns base Hospital
– Townsville Base Hospital
– Mackay Base Hospital
– Matter Children’s Hospital Brisbane
